  • Hippie 101

Summer is finally here in Manistee, so I have set out to make some goals.  On the top of the list this year is to become as hippie-like as possible and simply enjoy every minute of every day being a wife, mom and the great outdoors.  One thing I've learned so far about this ambition is it actually takes a lot of work.  If one wants to spend the days relaxing with the kidos, then nap times, before morning wake-up time and after bedtime the work load is pretty intense.  Hippies are harder workers than I thought.  Here is an example of some hippie like moments from this summer so far.

We have play time until 10:00 when Susie takes her morning nap.

The beach is the prime spot for hippies to chill, leading me to my second goal of spending every good day at the beach.

An afternoon at a folk music festival.  This was the hippie hang out for sure.  After the afternoon here I learned that I need a few more long skirts (organic of course).

Naked children of course helps the whole hippie feel.

We hippies don't do antibiotics for thrush in baby's mouth.  We prefer Gentian Violet and a very purple baby for a day or two.

And a communal bath.  It goes along with that communal living thing.  Now if only I could get rid of my schedule for baby and my lists of goals, we then may have truly reached hippieness

Whose daughter are you??!!  And how does Markus feel about these Hippi tendencies?  And did you know most hippies don't get married?   And when can I come to your pad to chill with the grandchildren?
