Impressive!  Especially when it's crusing through the "canal," the narrow part of the Manistee R. thru downtown.

Mom, come soon! She's getting bigger by the minute!

We're tempted to call her "smiley face."  She's practically always happy!

The catch-of-the-day - a Sheepshead (or Freshwater Drum).  To confess, I thought it was either a salmon or a very large trout the way it fought at first (and pulled line out) (and I was using light tackle).  Most people don't keep them but the filets are in the fridge/freezer - I'm going to give this guy a taste. Come on over, dad, and we'll do some fishin'!

  • Happy Days

We love company.  Seriously.  After the O. Jeromins left we were on such a people high.  Thanks for coming.  We had a wonderful time.

And just for the record......  Here is what happens to you if you are a child of M. J. and mom forgot your hat.  Can you guess what is over her ears?

  • The Phone Call

Last night was the phone call.  Markus and the director of foreign missions had the "what's the plan" chat.   Best case scenario the end of 2010 and that even looks early.  Germany, Germany the elusive country.  What strange times we live in.  The missions era has ended.  What child these days is raised with the aspirations to be a missionary?  A very rare find indeed.  And now we sit and wait, willing to be sent but waiting because the money is low.  Will we ever make it there?  I must confess that the more babies come our way and the longer we are here it is growing harder for me to think of it as a reality and to think of it at all.  The hardships are real, people, but Christ is bigger, the reward greater.  Every day this is my comfort.  When and if God sends us He will go with us.  Late at night as I lay in bed thinking on going over the broad Atlantic these realities are hard to remember.  Christ is bigger! Christ is bigger!  Come my faint heart and believe it.
